There are two types of people in the world –– those who have to work hard at being good at one thing, and those who are naturally good at almost everything. Our Brand Experience Manager, Beau, is definitely the latter. From helping build furniture for the office, to product photography, to brand design and digital marketing… Beau brings a lot to the table (and to our team). Aside from work, he says he enjoys long walks with his 18 month old son, non-filtered dinner conversation with his beautiful wife, and laughing all day at the office shenanigans. We sat down with this month’s Brainiac to learn even more about what makes him tick…
Q: What is your favorite part about being Brand Experience Manager at eMedia?
A: My favorite part of the job is the collaboration we have as a team. We continue to create inspiring and successful work without it feeling like “work”, because of the seamless process we’ve established. Our smart, provoking marketing and project strategies drive the amazing designs, and then are brought to life using incredibly innovative technology by our development team. Getting to participate in this process with our team at eMedia Design is a privilege I am proud to have.
Q: What are some of your favorite industry resources to stay on top of best practices and trends?
A: I have two, both of which are pretty cliché, and neither are industry specific. The first is people –– I love to listen to people’s experiences and understand what drives them. I especially enjoy if someone has a view outside of my own, it’s really beneficial for me to hear and process their motivations. Just living life is the other. I try to stay in the moment and find inspiration in the details, but will every once in a while step back to see the larger picture. This keeps me grounded, and helps me appreciate life’s little moments.
Q: You work a TON, but what are some of your hobbies outside of work?
A: I love spending time with family –– my wife and son are my world. Right along with them come my parents and five siblings. Spending my time with them and watching our family grow is awesome. I also love making and fixing anything. My current project is our house. From knocking down walls and laying floors, to re-landscaping and re-mortaring walls, I have my fill of happiness in this project.
Q: If you were a kitchen utensil, what would you be, and why?
A: Spork. People always look at sporks a little differently, sometimes even comically… but they are very handy no matter what you’re eating!
