Facebook Marketing Tips & Guidance

Facebook marketing is a great way for brands of any size to connect and engage with their target audience, customers and brand advocates.  With over one billion daily users, Facebook has become a leading marketing tool for businesses around the globe. However, it takes more than just setting up a company page to be successful on Facebook. In order to build brand awareness, gain new leads and connect with customers, you’ll need to roll up your sleeves and put some serious work into your page.

Here’s a rundown of  Facebook’s unique features to help you reach your marketing goals!

Facebook Ads:
Any business can host a Facebook page, but the really effective businesses also advertise. Building a Facebook ad campaign not only helps expand the reach of your company page, but it also helps promote brand awareness. The best part is the ads give you the ability to create your own advertisements, with very robust targeting capabilities.

Facebook Insights is an analytics tool that helps you keep track of your company page’s engagement, likes, post shares, comments, and more. This data is crucial not only for understanding your audience but also to measure the success of your efforts.

Customers can leave reviews directly on company pages. It is a great way to boost your brand’s credibility and trust factor with new customers exploring your page.

Facebook provides a customizable call-to-action button on the cover photo of your company page. You can use this to encourage visitors to sign up for your newsletter, or even guide them to shop your online store. Every company page needs to take advantage of this feature! It gives those really loyal fans another way to connect and engage with your brand.

Post Scheduling:
Facebook allows you to post content and schedule it for the exact day and time that you want them to go out. You can bulk schedule directly on Facebook or use tools like Hootsuite schedule on all your social media accounts.

eMedia’s 4 Tips for Facebook Success

Facebook marketing should be approached with a clear strategy, and goals in mind. You’d be surprised at how easy it can be to lose sight of those goals when you don’t have a strategy in place. To help you stay ahead of the curve, we put together some of the tried and true best practices that our social media marketing team employs on a daily basis. We not only use these strategies for our clients’ accounts, but our own as well (yes, we drink our own Kool-Aid).

  1. Clear Messaging: Before we even go near Facebook, we took some time to figure out exactly what message we want to share with our followers. Do we want them to visit our blog? Sign up for our newsletter? Or just read a funny blog we found on our lunch break? Clear messaging helps grab a user’s attention and lets them know exactly what you want them to do.
  2. Don’t Be Spammy:  Don’t be that page. Spread out your posts over time and avoid overwhelming your followers. On our Facebook page, we aim for about 3-4 times a week. That way when we post, our fans know it’s valuable information.
  3. Engage Your Audience:  All social media channels are built to encourage conversations. It’s meant to build relationships and engagements. Users want to connect with their favorite brands (that’s kind of why they ‘Like’ your page…  just FYI). Take some time to respond to their messages and comments.
  4. Be Personable: Don’t be afraid to have some fun! Show your brand’s personality on your page and show off your company’s unique voice.

Do you have questions or a vision for your brand’s social media strategy? We would love to discuss how we can help you reach your goals!
