This month, we are excited to showcase one of our creative code wizards…Robby Crichlow! Based out of Cleveland, Ohio, Robby has over 6 years of development experience with a majority of those being with the eMedia Team! When he’s not spending time with his daughter, he’s helping to bring our web designs and creative visions to life by building custom websites that make a statement.
It can be hard to detach web developers from their lines of code and endless cups of coffee to talk about themselves, but we were determined to learn more about what makes him tick. Here’s a peek into the life of Robby!
What’s your favorite part of working at eMedia?
It’s so rewarding to be able to turn someone’s idea for something into an actual thing that people can interact with. Getting to execute that design and actually make it happen, seeing the final product, it never gets old.
What are some of your go-to resources to stay on top of best practices and trends?
When I first got into the development space, I signed up for the Versioning newsletter from SitePoint, it’s a really great resource to read daily to keep my dev knowledge fresh. I also enjoy reading Hacker News.
If you were stuck on an island and could bring one music album, what artist & album would you choose to maintain sanity?
I’m guessing this island would have a means to play music, right ;)? If so, I’d definitely bring the Californication album by Red Hot Chili Peppers.
GNARLY FACTS ABOUT ROBBY:
- I’m in the process of recording a solo album.
- My 3-year-old daughter is my life; I’m wrapped around her little finger.
- I try to play music whenever I can (bass, guitar, piano, and drums – descending order of skill). I regularly play on Sunday morning at my church.
- I don’t consider myself the ultimate gamer, but gaming has always been a big part of my life (PC and consoles).
